I have just finished my morning reading, and it left me feeling incredulous.  There is ample evidence that the Obama Campaign is doing nothing to stop fraudulent contributors, including foreigners, cartoon characters and convicted celebrities from making campaign contributions.  The media is only raving about how Obama is breaking all previous fund raising efforts and not reporting on all the irregularities.

In a Newsmax.com article by Kenneth R. Timmerman the following was reported:

What do Bart Simpson, Family Guy, Daffy Duck, King Kong, O.J. Simpson, and Raela Odinga have in common?

All are celebrities; and with the exception of Odinga and O.J. Simpson, they also are fictional characters. And yet, all of them gave money earlier this month to the campaign of Barack Obama, without any apparent effort by the campaign to screen them out as suspect donors.

The Obama fund raising machine may owe its sensational success in part to a relaxation of standard online merchant security practices, which has allowed illegal donations from foreign donors and from unknown individuals using anonymous “gift” cards, industry analysts and a confidential informant tell Newsmax.

An ongoing Newsmax investigation into the Obama campaign’s finance reports has exposed multiple instances of campaign finance violations and has been cited in a formal complaint to the Federal Election Commission filed by the Republican National Committee on Oct. 6.

Now this is just not right by any standard.  On Obama's own fightthesmears.com website Obama claims:

Well according to Obama's own Federal Elections Commission (FEC) filings that is not even close to true.  Nearly one half of the money the Obama Campaign has collected has come from wealthy donors and special interests. (Including Exxon who has donated far more to the Obama campaign than to the McCain campaign.)  Obama's site claims that 3.1 million everyday Americans are the owners of his campaign, yet have donated only 300 million of his 600+ million dollars.  By law Obama does not have to disclose publicly donations under $200, but McCain has released his whole donor database, including those who have donated under the minimum required for disclosure.  Obama has refused to do this, and only by carefully pouring through his FEC filings are we able to discover the fraud.

Newsmax found more than 2,000 donors who had contributed in excess of the $4,600 limit for individuals per election cycle, in the latest filing alone.  The Obama campaign claims they have returned the "overages" but the donors contacted claim that they have not received back any money, nor have they been contacted regarding their donations.

Careful analysis also indicates a enormous amount of odd-cents donations, that is contributions in non-rounded amounts like $188.67, $1,542.06, $876.09, $388.67, $282.20, $195.66, and $118.15. Experts claim that this is indicative of foreign currency exchanges.  Campaign Fund raising experts has indicated that non-rounded contributions are very rare and "stick out like a sore thumb".  Who donates like that?  Most donors make even dollar contributions, $25, $50, $100. The Obama campaign claims that this is a result of merchandise purchased on their website, but the numbers don't add up.

Bottom line folks, Obama and his machine are the epitome of corrupt.  They skirt the edges, dive through the loop holes and mangle the process.  I hate conspiracy theories, but there is mounting evidence that the "transparency" and elimination of "politics as usual" that Obama touts is nothing but another example of corrupt "machine" politics.
