Not all ideas are equal.
Not all cultures are equal.
Not all people are good.

The constant ridicule and degradations (Alinsky Power Principals) that this administration and the power brokers on the left use highlights the weakness of their position. Attack the individual not the ideas. Fabricate lies to impugn their motives. Belittle them as individuals and hence by association the principals they stand, and fight, for.

Civility, being polite and courteous, has its place. But in the full on assault against our liberties, founding principals, against an advesary who uses (mis-uses) the power of their position, who distorts, fabricates and lies is pointless. Sugar coating the counter-revolution that is going on now diminishes the sense of urgency that is required to stem the flood of lies (oops sorry deliberate mis-information) the current progressive movement is spreading to advance their cause.

I do not believe in the subversive "ends justify the means" tact the progressives are taking is "good" I believe it is evil and will continue to call out the spreaders of double-speak, those who say one thing and do another, those who advocate for the compusive obediance of one set of pricipals yet don't follow them in their own lives when I see them.

It's hard to have a discussion with someone who thinks civility is a good idea in principal, but not in practice.

I think I'll spend my time engaging in dialogue, not diatribe. Good luck with your blog in the future.

In principal I agree with you, but in practical application concerning the statist we have running the show right now I will stick with Fools or Liars.

The Czarist approach, the flip-flops, the "promise" not to raise taxes are either out right lies or the best intentions of fools. Anyone (and everyone) knows you can't increase services and government programs without raising capital. We also know you can take all the income of everyone making over 300K and not fund what is proposed.

There is a darker and more nefarious purpose behind what we are seeing and it reeks of totalitarianism and statist ideology that will choke freedom.

More than 10% of the stimulus package has made it into the economy. Of the $787 in the package over $200 billion was tax cuts, most of which have been released. Also, over $150 billion in aid to states has been released. Vast amounts for extending unemployment benefits have also gone out. This 10% number is obviously far too low. Since such a big chunk has been spent, it is not surprising that economists have been able to measure its positive effects (see this mornings NY Times).

Also a word of political dialogue. When I disagree with you, I do not assume you are a fool or a liar. I assume you are someone who wants what is best for the United States and its people. You have much different views on how to make this happen than I do, but I believe you have only sincere motives and beliefs. I question your judgement and priorities on occasion, but never your intelligence or character. I encourage you use to do the same in your future postings.

Obama is not a fool or a liar. He is just someone who has different priorities about what is important for government to do and different ideas about how to make America a great country.

Political discourse should be about ideas, not insults.

I believe . strongly

Not to mention the fact that the $700 billion TARP bill has now grown to $3 trillion [excluding interest, graft and further 'appropriations'] and the establishment of 12 agencies, to date (may 19, 09). There is nothing in the TARP that prevents this from doubling in size and without any 'transparency" for the taxpayer

Saul Alinsky is and was stunningly brilliant. If you have not read his books, do so. For what he says is true, but truth does not make virtue or righteousness. Alinsky's theories are an incredible tool to change, for either the right wing or the left wing extremist, or those in vary degrees of extremism or normalcy. Most interestingly, like any master teacher, he has broken down the essence of his theories into simplicity, for even the least of laymen to understand, learn, and then do. There is no doubt in my mind, that Barrack Obama has likewise mastered Alinsky's methodologies. Read the book and one will see eerie, chilling similarities, definitively linking Obama as a student of Alinsky theory. Obama's bridge to the presidency was essentially walking the steps of Alinsky. Now, if the right wing conservative desires "change" and "change you can count on", assuredly, utilizing Alinsky tactics will buckle the tyranny that is unfolding before us. Mark Levin paints Alinsky as a socialist, Marxist, rebel-rouser. Mark is too kind, he should paint Alinsky in more graphic terms, alerting the conservatives of the real menace Alinsky was. From my view, I have the greatest respect for the intellectual brilliance of Alinsky, but detest with rage his Marxist theories, thus detest the man himself. Read his books, especially, Rules for Radicals, you will barely be able to stop reading and will be awakened to the behind-the-scenes organization to topple the American way.
